Comments What an extraordinary resource! My walks around the streets will never be the same. I'm glad that so much remains, but can't help mourning the loss of so many fine and elegant buildings. The loss of High Street seems particularly brutal.

CommentsMy grandmother, Mildred Cass, ran the Castlemaine Hotel in 1925 and then the Queen's Bridge Hotel from 1928 till the early 1960. I have several photos taken during the war years.
